Historic First: Asteroid Sar2667 Explodes over English Channel in Huge Airburst Fireball

 In a rare and historic event, an asteroid known as Sar2667 exploded in a massive airburst fireball over the English Channel on 13/02/2023. The explosion, estimated to have been equivalent to several tons of TNT, was visible from several areas across the South of England and Northern France.

Asteroid Sar2667 was initially discovered on 12 February 2023 and had been closely monitored by astronomers around the world.
